Privacy Policy

1. Scope and our role

Travel Network World ("TNW", "we", "our" or "us") is an independent travel-discovery, comparison, planning and referral platform. The site provides travel information, comparison tools, forms and links or widgets that can connect visitors with third-party providers.

When you leave TNW to book with another company, that company controls its own checkout, account, reservation and payment information under its own privacy policy. TNW does not receive your full payment-card number merely because you followed an affiliate link.

2. Information you choose to provide

Depending on the feature you use, TNW may receive:

• Contact enquiries: your name, email address, subject, message and the page/origin associated with the submission.
• Newsletter signups: your email address plus basic attribution information such as the landing page or campaign parameters associated with the signup.
• Blog comments: the name, email address and comment you submit. Comments may be held for moderation before publication; the email address is not intended to be displayed publicly.
• Traveller accounts: your email address, display name, secure password hash, account security/login information and the trip plans you choose to save in My Trips. TNW does not store your plaintext password.
• Optional social sign-in: when you choose Google or Facebook sign-in, TNW receives a provider account identifier and the basic profile information the provider returns for the approved scopes, such as a verified/available email address, display name and profile image URL. TNW stores the provider identifier so it can recognize the same sign-in method later; provider access tokens are used only for the authorization exchange and are not stored as a persistent TNW credential.
• Saved trip plans: destination, origin, approximate dates, traveller count, budget style, the planning prompt and the AI-generated plan when you choose “Save to My Trips”.
• Optional AI trip-planning requests: the trip details and prompt you enter, such as origin, destination, dates, budget style and traveller count. An email address is optional and is used only when you request an emailed copy or follow-up and provide the required consent.

Please do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, card security codes, passport numbers or unnecessary identity documents through TNW forms, chat or email.

3. Technical and usage information

The site and its security controls may process technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, request timing, referring page, pages visited, session information and campaign parameters. This information can be used for security, rate limiting, diagnostics, analytics and understanding how visitors reach or use the site.

Some anti-abuse controls use an IP address or a one-way hash derived from technical request information. PHP sessions may also use a secure session cookie for features that require server-side state.

Where configured, public abuse-sensitive forms use Google reCAPTCHA v3. A short-lived reCAPTCHA token and technical request information are sent to Google for risk scoring; TNW checks the returned action, hostname and score before accepting the protected submission.

4. How we use information

We use information handled by TNW to:

• respond to enquiries and website-support requests;
• deliver newsletter updates a visitor requested and manage unsubscribe requests;
• receive and moderate blog comments;
• create and secure a traveller account, maintain your private My Trips workspace and store plans you explicitly choose to save;
• generate an optional AI-assisted trip-planning response;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website;
• measure site usage and conversion events where the relevant consent permits it;
• maintain records reasonably necessary for operational, security or legal purposes.

TNW does not use the information submitted to its own forms to issue airline tickets, hotel confirmations or other third-party travel reservations.

5. Service providers and third-party travel sites

We may use service providers to operate website infrastructure, send email, provide consent management, measure analytics, prevent abuse, provide optional social sign-in or generate an AI-assisted response. Those providers may process information on our behalf or according to their applicable service terms.

Google services may be used for Tag Manager/Analytics, reCAPTCHA and optional Google account authorization. Meta services may be used for optional Facebook account authorization. These services are activated only when the required protected Travel Network World settings are present.

The AI trip-planning feature sends the travel-planning prompt and related trip fields to the configured AI service provider so a response can be generated. Do not include sensitive personal information in an AI-planning prompt.

Affiliate links, travel widgets and booking-provider links can take you to third-party services. Once you interact directly with those services, their privacy practices apply. Their sites may receive referral parameters or other information necessary to attribute the visit or provide the requested service.

6. Cookies, analytics and consent

TNW uses a consent-management interface to present cookie choices. Google Tag Manager is initialized with Consent Mode signals for analytics and advertising storage/user-data/personalization set to denied by default, and those optional categories can be updated when the relevant choice is granted. Security-related storage required for authentication, fraud prevention and form protection is treated separately from optional analytics or advertising.

Essential or security-related storage may still be used when necessary to provide a requested feature, maintain a signed-in traveller or administrator session, protect forms or prevent abuse. Third-party sites you visit after leaving TNW may use their own cookies and consent systems.

You can also use browser controls to restrict or remove cookies. Blocking storage may affect some website functions.

7. Retention and security

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, operational records, security, dispute handling or applicable legal obligations. Traveller account and saved-plan records remain associated with the account until removed, the account is deleted, or retention is otherwise required for legitimate security or legal reasons. Different data types can have different retention periods.

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, disclosure or alteration. No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. International processing

Some infrastructure, analytics, email, AI or partner services may process information in jurisdictions outside your province or outside Canada. Where that occurs, the information can be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.

9. Your choices and requests

You may contact us to ask about personal information TNW controls, request a correction or deletion where appropriate, request deletion of a traveller account or saved plans, or withdraw consent for future marketing communications. Newsletter messages should also provide an unsubscribe mechanism.

Requests concerning a reservation, payment or account held by a third-party travel provider must normally be directed to that provider because TNW does not control that provider's customer record.

10. Children's information

TNW is a general travel-planning website and is not designed to solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to TNW, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

11. Changes to this policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy as the website, providers or operational practices change. The current version will be posted here with an updated date.
